Rowdeford Garden Fair HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19
Was scheduled for Sunday 17th May 2020 11am-3pm
The Rowdeford Garden Fair committee, in common with many other organisations and venues, is closely following the Government's advice over COVID-19 and its guidance concerning social gatherings. This advice is changing day by day (and may be different by the time you read this). In this rapidly changing situation we have decided to cancel this year's Garden Fair and to give as much notice as possible to those involved. It is with great sadness that the organising committee has reached this decision, which will be a great disappointment not only to committee members, but also to the School and the volunteers who work hard each year to ensure an enjoyable and successful day that benefits the children who attend the school at Rowdeford.
We are in the process of contacting stall holders, charities, our volunteers and those who have pre-purchased tickets in order to return monies already paid. We do not yet know the resulting cost of this to the Rowdeford Charity Trust, under whose auspices we run the Fair.
Due to the complexities of organising this event and the seasonal nature of many of our specialist plant stall holders, unfortunately we cannot reschedule for later in 2020. We do aim to start planning for the 16th May 2021 Garden Fair in September of this year.
The 2019 Garden Fair raised some £10,500 for the Charity Trust, who do so much to support the school and its pupils. the Project for 2020 is a board walk to make the woodland are fully accessible to all pupils. Rowdeford is an excellent school that deserves the full support of the community. We look forward to 2020 and an excellent day out.
